CONFERENCE TABLE
Birch ply conference table
As a freelance designer, I took on the challenge of creating a custom conference room table for Oddsense Studios in Brooklyn, NY. With a limited budget of $1000, I transformed a private space at my school into a temporary studio for designing, building, finishing, and packaging the table for delivery. The table had to be designed for on-site installation, allowing it to be transported in pieces through a specific door at the office. The thoughtful design of the table focused on accommodating computers and providing a meeting space that fosters inclusivity. Large rounded corners replaced sharp edges, ensuring that users could sit comfortably at the corners and feel involved in conversations during meetings. To achieve both aesthetics and structural integrity, the legs were positioned at angles, creating a spaceframe-like architecture. Dowels were strategically placed as outer edge supports, giving the table a floating appearance above the legs.
